Since 1996, IGASAMEX has
been offering Mexican industry the services related to the transportation
and marketing of natural gas through pipeline laterals connected
directly to
main
transmission lines. IGASAMEX's revenues come from the capacity rental
in its own pipelines, pipeline operation and maintenance, burner
conversion and marketing fees. The capacity rental transportation
contracts are long-term, typically 3-10 years.
Headquartered in Mexico City, IGASAMEX operates 19 pipelines throughout the country of Mexico and employs 41 individuals. The company flows gas to 85 customers with 35 more plants under permitting and/or waiting construction scheduling. Negotiations with 30 more companies are on going. IGASAMEX transports approximately 12 million cubic feet per day and has contracts for another 4 million.
Some representative plants under contract include Colgate Palmolive's largest plant in Latin America in San Jose Iturbide; a Temple Inland cardboard box plant also in San Jose Iturbide; the Kaltex petrochemical plant in Altamira; the Toyota assembly plant in Tijuana; the Cemex cement plant in Merida, Yucatan and "El Florido" industrial park in Tijuana.
