Quality Sausage: Quality Sausage processes beef and pork into a variety of cooked products. Its products are cooked, frozen and shipped to food distributors, chain restaurants and other Institutional customers for use in frozen dinners, hors d'oeuvres and pizza toppings. Products include pepperoni, pork sausage, meatballs, beef patties and Salisbury steaks.

The relationship Quality has with its customers is driven by its ability to provide timely, consistent, customized products. Quality's customer base consists of three segments: distributors, manufacturers, and national accounts. Customers include Campbell's, Heinz, Pinnacle and Pizza Hut. Windsor Frozen Foods (WFF): WFF was formed in January 1996 when HMI purchased the frozen food businesses of the Keebler Company. WFF's products are marketed to the foodservice industry as well as restaurant chains, warehouse clubs and diversified retailers under private label programs. WFF consists of five divisions producing a wide variety of high quality frozen specialties. The divisions are:

  • Bernardi Italian Foods (Bernardi): Based in Toluca, Illinois, Bernardi produces filled pasta, entrees and handheld products. Bernardi was established as a family restaurant in 1932 in Toluca, Illinois. In 1969, the family founded Bernardi Italian Foods as a manufacturer of frozen filled pasta, entrees and handheld products. Bernardi products include tortellini, lasagna, ravioli, shells, pasta sheets, rotini, manicotti, fettuccini, pasta shells and gnocchi. Bernardi's products are sold in foodservice with distributors such as Sysco and Gordon's Foodservice.

Its products are also sold to a number of national accounts with customers including Olive Garden and Old Spaghetti Factory. In the Institutional channel Bernardi products can be found in finished goods manufactured by customers such as Nestles and Gerber. Bernardi products are also manufactured under a number of retail grocery labels such as Safeway, Kroger and HEB.

In addition to the main manufacturing facility in Toluca, Bernardi has a second plant in Bloomsburg, PA. In total Bernardi has over 170,000 square feet of manufacturing space and employs 460 people.

  • The Original Chili Bowl (Chili Bowl): Chili Bowl sells its products in the foodservice channel as well as to customers such as Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. Chain accounts such as Dairy Queen and Huddle House are also customers of Chili Bowl.

The manufacturing facility is 38,000 square feet and employs 80 people.

 

  • Golden Tiger: Golden Tiger is based in Los Angeles, California and produces a variety of appetizers including Asian finger foods such as egg rolls, potstickers and spring rolls. In addition other products include lobster rolls, taquitos, southwestern egg rolls, rice rolls, lettuce wrap filling, and hand held dessert bites. Its customers include Sysco, Gordon's Foodservice, Red Lobster and Costco.

Golden Tiger produces its products in 55,000 square feet of manufacturing space and employs 250 people.

  • Mexican Division: Recognized brands such as Jose Ole, Posada and Butcher Boy are sold in this division, which is the largest division of Windsor Quality Foods. The Mexican division's broad distribution includes leading retail customers such as Albertson's, Safeway and Kroger; Foodservice distributors includes U.S. Foodservice, Sysco, and Unipro; National Account customers such as Jack in the Box and Chili's. Products sold are Premium and Standard burritos, taquitos, tacos and a line of mini Mexican products including quesadillas, tacos and taquitos.

The Mexican division has three manufacturing facilities located in Riverside, California, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lampasas, Texas. Riverside is 150,000 square feet and employs 470 people. The plant in Albuquerque is 45,000 square feet and has 240 employees. The facility located in Lampasas was expanded in 2001 and now has 120,000 square feet and employs 340 people.

  • Appetizer Division: Fred's For Starters® is the long-standing and proven brand in the Appetizer Division. Product offerings in the appetizer division are: cheese sticks, coated vegetables, battered onion rings, extruded onion rings and stuffed jalapeno peppers. Presently Fred's For Starters® is sold only to broad-line Foodservice distributors.

The Appetizer Division has two manufacturing plants located in Carthage, Missouri and Piedmont, Missouri. The Carthage plant employs 140 people and is 75,000 square feet. The facility in Piedmont is 90,000 square feet and employs 210 people.
